J Luda pastels are handmade in Transylvania by father and son Laszlo and Szabolcs Orban. The pastels are very smooth and soft, like velvet. They have a wonderful working feel to them. J Luda have focused on the use of environmentally friendly, modern, lightfast, synthetic pigments. This focus combined with the 'Artisan Made' approach of using the best traditional techniques gives the pastels their colour intensity. The pastels are completely uniform all the way through ensuring you have a consistent working experience from start to finish. An impressive pastel. Of note is the size of the pastels, a very healthy 42mm x 17mm x 17mm. Sets are currently available, with single to follow in October 2023.
